The Next Site and Prev Site buttons also work to navigate through the list of sites in a group.
Update Groups are a quick and easy way to group a number of sites to be downloaded at a selecting date and time. You can create groups named after particular times of day when they will be downloaded, or name them after the types of site you want to put in that group to be updated together. Version 3 beta 2 Released
The latest beta test version has now been uploaded. This version includes all the updates to version 2 since the first beta was released.
It also includes a completely revised process for logging in to websites which includs support for forms based logins.
There are two methods websites can use for logging in (or authentication). The first uses a small pop up window and is called HTTP authentication. The second uses a from built into a webpage. This method is typically used for logging in to bulletin boards and shopping websites.
WebStripper has always supported HTTP logins. This new version adds support for form logins. WebStripper automatically works out which type of login is required for the site - all you need to do is specify the page address.
For forms logins you can tell WebStripper both the page you want to log in at, and a separate page on which to start the download. This may be useful on some sites.
This version also adds the ability to enter your username and password when you start the download, so that your details are not stored in WebStrippers data files.
Note that this beta will expire in December 2007.
You can download the trial versionhere. Regsitered users can download the beta by visiting the webpage listed in their registration email (don't use the direct download link).

Under XP files are now stored under C:\Documents and Settings. To change the default location go to the menu item Options/Options/New Site. This version also adds support for 'grabbing' the current address from the Firefox browser.

We have now added the entire help manual and documentation to the WebStripper website.
You can view it at http://webstripper.net/help.htm

Version 3 beta 1 released
The first beta of version 3 has been released.
This beta includes a completely rewritten HTML parser which is up to 50% faster than the old version. The new engine is also much more versatile than the old one and will make it much easier to add new features.
I won't make any promises as to what new features are planned in case they don't appear and people get disappointed, but there should be some nice extra stuff before too long.
The only known issues are that some extra tags may be left in the source code when a site is reparsed, and comments may be searched for links when they shouldn't be. Neither of these will affect browsing of the downloaded sites.
