Site Wizard: Options

This page contains some advanced options for fine tuning the way PageNest works. You should leave them alone unless you really want to change them.

Change file extension to match type (default: checked). When a server returns a file it also returns a file type. Normally this matches the files extension. However, when the file is returned from a server side script (ie a databse driven site) the returned file type won't match the extension. It is impossible to know which files are returned from scripts and which are straight files so PageNest checks every file and if it's file extension doesn't match the file type it changes the file type appropriately. Sometimes this can cause problems, mainly due to the registry on a machine not being set up properly. If you experience problems with file extensions being changed inappropriately try unchecking this item.

Copy site (Don't ReParse) (default: unchecked) (Pro version only). Normally PageNest reparese a site after it has been downloaded to change any links into relative links (instead of links onto the internet which where in the original files). If this option is checked PageNest will not make any changes to the downloaded files. Use this if you want to edit and re-upload a site. Bear in mind that most of the internet is copyright protected and you should obtain permission from the copyright owner before re-using material.

Ignore query string when comparing filenames (default: unchecked). In rare circumstances this option may be needed if PageNest enters a loop while following links. This option shouldn't be necessary if cookies are enabled (see below).

Store cookies (default: checked). Some sites store small files in your browser, which are returned later on. We recommend you leave this option checked. It can prevent PageNest entering loops on some sites and will probably be needed on password protected sites.

Most material on the internet is copyrighted.
If you intend to use downloaded material for anything other than personal use you must obtain the copyright holders permission first.
Solent Software is opposed to copyright theft.
